Shallot Sets Golden Gourmet

Grew this variety this year (2013).as my first venture into shallot growing. It exceeded my expectations by providing a greater than expected crop with only 1 or 2 attempting to run to seed. this was soon remedied by pinching off any budding seed heads. The crop was an ideal mix of smaller bulbs ideal for pickling and larger bulbs for cooking. The remainder I have stored in netting in my garage and to date (December) there has been no sign of deterioration. Will be growing this variety again in 2014.
