Leek Tornado is a very high yielding variety with long shanks and good cold tolerance. Plants are erect with medium green foliage. Some rust resistance. Excellent for producing full size or baby leeks.

Harvesting time will depend on sowing time. The leeks will store well once picked if heeled in.

Grown these for a couple years, sharing the seeds with my neighbour. He managed to grow a 1.1kg whopper in 2015, slaughtering my 0.77kg attempt. Not to worry, I won the imaginary trophy back this year!

This is the best variety of leek I have grown. Without any special treatment, this leek is taller, thicker and stronger than any previous varieties grown. And better specimens than my neighbours!
